The site is at the centre of Colombo’s emerging vertical landscape. The land belongs to a long-standing owner, wishing to create a legacy building for the family, with sustainable earnings over a long-term period. Our aim is to create a development that is successful commercially whilst being architecturally unique. This is a special site, so we have the opportunity to think carefully about the right proposal that meets the expectations of both the landowner and the market. 

The design aims to leverage the shape and size of the site, whilst meeting the planning requirements. We have created ‘interlocking’ volumes that create a larger total area by varying across the site as the building rises. This both maximises the total area whilst creating a visually exciting building that has an immediate presence.
